There is a reason why I call this the discovery section. I love finding little details in the most random place and this I would definitely class as random on my way to Caddo Lake, I found a derelict bar. It was nothing special until I walked around the back and found this little gem of weathered rustic wooden wall made of uneven planks, their grain and knots clearly visible from years of exposure. Set into the wall is a small door framed by rough timber and topped with a simple wooden awning. On the door is a bold design of the Texas flag: a single white star on a deep blue field, with red and white sections below.

Above the window, a small sign reads, “NO MINORS ALLOWED UNLESS WITH A PARENT,” adding a hint of local character and story to the scene. The contrast between the faded, textured wood and the strong colors of the flag creates a striking visual, evoking a sense of tradition, ruggedness, and regional pride.
